Advantages of hot forging
There are two types of forging, cold forging and hot forging. We at Nakano
Forging mostly employ hot forging in our production because of the considerable
advantages it offers in terms of high-volume productivity and high flexibility
in shaping.
The ideal production volume per lot ranges from hundreds to thousands of pieces,
or more, depending on the product dimensions. While a smaller volume is, of course,
acceptable, greater production volume provides better cost performance.
Hot forging allows the formation of non-ferrous metals like brass into complicated
3-D shapes, as well as providing the smoothness and definition of shape made possible
only by heating. It goes without saying that hot forging technology requires skill
and know-how when it comes to the examination of materials, precise processing
of molds, and control of the production process. |
